Supervisor of RTI2 Program

Mitzi Baker has had a 30-year career in Hardin County. She graduated from Freed-Hardeman College in 1988 with a B.S. Degree in Education and a Master of Education in 2005 from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Ms. Baker began her teaching career at Cerro Gordo and North Elementary, teaching Kindergarten, fourth grade, reading and math intervention classes, and Speech from 1988-2010. She served as an assistant principal at East Hardin Elementary from 2010-2014 and as principal at Parris South Elementary from 2014-2017. While at Parris South, she played a part in the school receiving the award of the first Lighthouse School in Tennessee from The Leader in Me program.

As RTI2 Supervisor, she has been able to network with leaders from around the state of Tennessee and she is always proud to tell them that she serves the children of Hardin County. She has worked with elementary and secondary schools in assisting school intervention staff to close the reading and math gaps of our students.

She enjoys working alongside her husband, David, in church ministry, spending time with her three children, as well as family and friends, and traveling whenever possible.
